So, the organization of my education at medical school is way different than my education experiences of the past. We pretty much learn one thing at a time based on organ system. These organ systems include things like gastrointestinal, renal, musculoskeletal, neurology, endocrine, and cardiopulmonary to name a few. Then I learn all the basic science dealing with one specific system. The basic science includes topics like microbiology, biochemistry, pathology, immunology, anatomy and such. Then after a period of 3 - 10 weeks I take a final exam.
Well I just finished another one of these periods (dermatology). I love the day after these tests because I basically have a chance to breathe and relax as we begin a new unit (currently hematology). Thus I write on the Replacement Friend.
I have starting telling a few people that I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And what I mean by that is this. I actually believe that one day I will be a doctor... and what I mean by that is this. I think I might just be able to remember all this stuff.
So basically, I am not going to become a "Dr. Spaceman"... well except in the fact the government keeps stopping my research as well!
